This imaginary botanical was inspired by a vintage illustration of the tropical Autograph Tree (or Clusia Rosea), featuring its unusual seed pod forms. It was painted in a watered down gouache paint, and overlaid with linear detailing in coloured pencil, giving the flowers and leaves an almost three-dimensional quality. This print is part of the Floral Wonderland narrative of the AW24 collection, which celebrates a world of never-before-seen species and hybrid varieties created from the Designer’s imagination – a real carnival of nature.

For Autumn/Winter 2024, Liberty Fabrics presents The Curated Floral, a celebration of the beauty, diversity, and wonder of nature’s masterpiece – the flower. Celebrated across three distinctive narratives: Floral Focus, Floral Library, and Floral Wonderland, this collection spotlights flowers outside their natural context and as a subject worthy of artistic, scientific, and symbolic study. Whether photographed, painted, or preserved, the Liberty Design Studio has re-envisioned the flower as a work of art.
Fabric measures 53" wide. Printed on superfine 100% organic GOTS certified, cotton lawn (Weight: 76 g/sqm). Designed in UK, printed in Italy.
Sold and priced in 1/4 meter (0.27 yards) increments. We cut additional increments of fabric continuously. For example, if you select 4 units (which equates to 1 meter), you will receive a single piece of fabric that is 53" wide and 1 meter long.
