The Language of Flowers was originally printed as a Liberty scarf in 1977 and brings together forty-nine different types of blooms, each attributed with its unique meaning, symbolism, or sentiment. Inspired by Floriography, the cryptological language of the Victorian era, this nostalgic compilation unlocks a secret floral dictionary. This print is part of the Floral Library narrative of the AW24 collection, which studies the subject through the Botanist’s eye, cataloguing and exploring an assortment of species as well as a being a celebration of key florals throughout Liberty’s history.
AW24 The Curated Floral
For Autumn/Winter 2024, Liberty Fabrics presents The Curated Floral, a celebration of the beauty, diversity, and wonder of nature’s masterpiece – the flower. Celebrated across three distinctive narratives: Floral Focus, Floral Library, and Floral Wonderland, this collection spotlights flowers outside their natural context and as a subject worthy of artistic, scientific, and symbolic study. Whether photographed, painted, or preserved, the Liberty Design Studio has re-envisioned the flower as a work of art.
